YUCK--the ash has arrived

Here are a couple of photos to show you the ash that accumulated on our vehicle while we were out to dinner this evening. We are here in Anchorage for the weekend and the volcano erupted 2 times today and some of the ash fell here in Anchorage. I'm hoping that it snows tonight to cover the ash. It looks pretty gloomy outside right now. This ash raises havoc with life for sure. Jim and I attended the Governors Prayer Breakfast this morning and the governor, Sarah Palin wasn't able to attend because of the ash situation. She is in Juneau and the airplanes aren't flying with the ash in the area.

Yuck is right! Doesn't that stuff damage a cars paint job? I know when we were in Galveston several years ago, the salt from being near the gulf left a white crust on the van. I had to wash it off ASAP! With us it's tornadoes, with you it's volcanoes! Crazy isn't it?

That'll teach ya to stay on the peninsula away from the evil city! ;) haha Yeah, this ash stuff really sets me off on a spring cleaning tangent. It's the maid/mother in me that thinks, "Great! One more mess to clean up!" All the ash makes it look like an old Soviet film where everything is in the gray scale.

What a bummer you went to see the Governor and she could not be there because of the volcano spewing a bunch of dirt. Reminds me of the rotten media...

That ash did make things look gloomy for sure! We enjoyed a day at home when we got ashed and didn't even go to church. Was kind of refreshing in a way.
