Winter Fun Day

There were quite a number of ice sculptures. There even was "Buzz Lightyear".
We are huddled together in the "hot tub"!!
My silly sister, Shirlee and I decided to drag our husbands for an afternoon walking around downtown looking at the ice sculptures at the city ice skating park. Needless to say, it was just plain cold. We were able to run into a few shops though to warm up!!!! (you know what that means) :)

Show and Tell Friday

Show and Tell

This is my attempt to join the "Show and Tell Friday" blog. I'm hoping that I can follow the directions and get my picture up and all.
This is a picture of a part of my collection of doilies. These doilies have been made mostly my my mom, some by my sister-in-law, some by friends and some by me. I will try and gather up more to show. I have them displayed in a basket that has heart shapes on the end. With our move, I have doilies in different places, so the basket isn't as full as it should be. I will also tell something about each doily as time goes by. I enjoy touching them and looking at them. Some of the doiles have colored beads on them. http://kellishous.blogspot.com/

Visit from the Marlowes

We were blessed this past weekend with a visit from our friends who just adopted a baby boy from Russia. They have two beautiful little girls who are so good with their new addition to the family. I feel real bad that I didn't take any photos while they were here. I'm such a photo maniac and can't believe that I didn't get a photo. :( You can view their blog enclosed in this blog. I hope it shows up, if not I will be doing an edit. Anyway, little Dima had a good time investigating our place and he blessed us to pieces when he ate!! He made all sorts of loud sounds while eating. We had to talk louder and louder when we were visiting at the table. :) The girls had a good time choosing chocolates from a box for their dessert! It is always good to see the Marlowes and to see them adjusting to the new addition to the family. They are a blessing to us and it is good to see how God has blessed them. God is so good.

I checked out the blog and it didn't show the Marlowe's blog, so here it is: marloweblessings.blogspot.com. I know that you will enjoy it.

Sweetness

My sweet cousin Kathy passed away on Monday evening this past week, Jan 14, 2007. She was 58 years old. Coincidentally, that is the date of our Grandma Buck who passed away years ago. Kathy was in the hospital since just before Christmas and the doctors found out that she had cancer throughout her body and they couldn't do anything for her. We prayed for God's mercy upon her and it was a beautiful thing to see her deal with this in such a peaceful way. The word that describes Kathy to a "T" is SWEETNESS. I was truly blessed to have her as a cousin.

Christmas Cookie Exchange 2007

I just had to share these photos of the annual Christmas cookie exchange that my cousin Glennora puts on. You will see a sampling of the goodies we got to take home with us and see a sampling of her decorated house and of course a few photos of Mackenzie.

Activites during the Christmas visit

Having fun in the snow! The weather was perfect to be outdoors on Christmas Day so we took Mackenzie to a little sledding hill. She wasn't too impressed with the snow flying in her face on the trip down the hill.
Uncle Jordan treasuring the time with Mackenzie. She adores him.
Mackenzie playing around under the dining room table. She wasn't interested in the Russian doll sitting on the little table that is part of the main table but is under it. The height of the table was perfect for her to walk under without banging her head. Mackenzie spending time with "Pops". I think her real motive was to get ahold of of his cell phone. :) Grandpa and Julie taking a turn bowling with the Wii system. I didn't realize that my arm would be killing me the next day after playing but it did much to my dismay.

Family together

Mackenzie getting ready to dance again. This is one little girl who loves music.
Family photo at my parents at the Christmas Eve get together.
My wonderful parents.
I can't seem to get enough of this little cherub!

It's tea time-a girl after grandma's own heart!!
