update

We got my mother in law out of the hospital a week ago tomorrow. She is doing well but is in need of 24/7 care. We will be keeping her in her own home with my son and his wife caring for her. They will be needing a lot of prayer support. My husband and I will be taking care of all our business in Alaska and come down here to take care of her. It is a huge decision but we believe it is a good one. We are staying Phoenix for 2 more weeks. I'm certainly enjoying the warm weather and the green trees and the oranges and grapefruit hanging on the trees!

Phoenix in Jan

I will be traveling to Phoenix today and plan to be there for 2 weeks. My mother in law is in the hospital and should be discharged within a day or two. My husband and I will stay with her to get her back on her feet. I will try and post while there. Please pray for her.

back in time

I'm going to try and play catch-up here. This is a photo of my mom and my sister, Shirlee at our Christmas Eve traditional family get together. We had planned to spend Christmas in Phoenix with our oldest sons and their wives but the Lord had other plans for us. Our son Jordan ended up getting the flu bug hours before were to get on a plane for the 5 1/2 hour flight. He was sick from the 23rd until the 26th. We tried to get on flights on the 26th but they were all booked. We were blessed to have my parents and a few of my siblings and their families to spend the holiday with. We all were obviously very disappointed that we weren't together with the family in Phoenix. There's a bigger picture here that we may or may not ever know about but, God's promise is that "all things work out for the good to those who love Him". We can rest in his truth and have peace about it.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year to you! I hope and pray that you will be aware of what God is doing in and around your life this year.
I'm up and around early this New Year's day. I guess I'm just excited that it is now a new year and a fresh new start. It's like starting a new scrapbook, excited to see how it all turns out. First off I'm anxiously looking forward to the return of the Lord-Can this be the year?!!!
Actually, I can hardly sleep in but hopefully, I get a few winks sometime today. I was up until 2 am playing Risk. (not my normal bedtime) I love playing Risk. I played with my husband, son and one of his friends. I made a fatal mistake at the end and ended up loosing to my son.
The traditions at our home on New Year's Eve is to stay up and bring in the new year with homemade eggnog. The kids grab pots and pans and big spoons and go outdoors and bang on them, the dog goes wild and runs around in a frenzy!! We also eat tapioca pudding-a crazy tradition but we do it. The most fun though when the kids were younger was to play a game we call "hunkle, bunkle, beanstalk. We've had a lot of laughs with this family game!!
Please pray for my friend Millie. She is in a hospital because of a burst vessle in her brain. Her family is with her and they need prayer also. She was flown out of state to a hospital in Seattle.
