Here is a pair of fingerless gloves that I knitted!!  I have been looking around for a pair that I liked and found this pattern finally.  It took me five days to knit them.  Not 24/7 but close. :)  Not really, but the lacey pattern and attachment of the beads was a challenge.  I really love these and glad that I didn't settle for the ones that were already made!

ALASKAN CRANBERRY JAM
Jars are cleaned and boiled ready for the jam!

.Berries and water getting ready to boil for 10 min.

The traditional 7 cups of sugar waiting to be put into the pot.

Berries, bananas, and sugar coming to a boil.

Pouring the jam into the jars.

Just need the lids and the project is finished!!!  Delicious!
Thanks to Angelina Shangin for giving us the cranberries.  I couldn't find any ripe bananas in Anchorage so I had to bring the cranberries back home so that I could make the jam.  I had to buy the bananas and ripen them for 4 days so that I could make this!

Here is the recipe:
Alaskan Cranberry Jam
Simmer for 10 minutes:
3 cups Alaskan cranberries
1 1/2 cups water
ADD:
2 cups mashed bananas
7 cups sugar
bring to a boil and boil 1 minute
remove from heat and add one container of pectin.
stir and skim
add a little lemon juice
ENJOY!!

Harv Dog was adopted by my family in 1994 and died in March 2012.  He was named Harvey when we adopted him and the family opted to keep the name.  He was a great addition to our family!  There are many words to describe him.  He was spunky, feisty, barky, entertaining, a pain, loyal, loving and such a CUTE dog!!  I probably left out a few descriptive words but all in all he was a keeper!
The Weigners, owners of Otter Trail Dog Boarding, adopted Harvey from us when we left the state of Alaska.  They had lovingly kept him for us over the years and offered to keep him because we couldn't take him with us. We want to thank them so very much for the care they had for him.  They spoiled him and took good care of him until he finally fell into death.
Please enjoy the photos:

This is my favorite photo of Harvey.

Jim, Jordan and I went out for a hike with Harvey and I got this shot of him with the leaf over his eye.  (another of my favorites)

Here James is giving Harvey a little exercise after being cooped in the car on a trip up to Anchorage.

We took Harvey up Flat Top for a hike, he loved hiking!

On one of our hikes around Hatcher Pass, Harvey spotted a marmont and decided he would chase it.  I'm glad it found it's hole in the ground before Harvey got to it!!

This is my cute little Jordan with our brand new Harvey Dog!!  Our lives were changed forever!!
Julie would of taken him to school if she could.  It would of been a good thing---he didn't like any guys that came to the house!!!  :)  We have some funny stories about that!  :)
 In love!

Casserole carrier for Joyce and a cute little cherub!

I just love this photo--I caught her a little late, she was peering into the console table and that was so so cute!

OK, here is the casserole carrier:  I am not impressed with the way this blog uploads photos.  One day it will put the first photos I upload on last and vise versa--uuuurg!!
This is the finished project minus the ribbon that I need to string in so that the center closes up.
Go to the bottom of the blog to see the progression of the carrier.

I decided to use the larger dotted fabric for the binding for the handles and ran out of fabric, should of just used the same binding as the rest of the carrier.

Cut out 2 1/2 inch handles and quilt them together

Put the top section on top of the bottom section which has been quilted

quilt the top fabric to the bottom fabric which has thick batting or interfacing sandwiched between

Cut 2 inch strips all along the tube you sewed.

This is what it looks like sewn together--it has a lot of stretch because of the diagonal cut.

turn one diagonal cut over to the other and sew along the top edge

Cut the square on the diagonal

Cut out a 22x22 inch square to start making the binding.

This is a site that I like to check out on a regular basis.  Sometime the photos are so very weird looking but, hey, they have cameras that can capture some amazing stuff!  God has created such a vast expanse out there that we can only dream of knowing about in this life.  In our next life we will know all about this amazing creation.  http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/astropix.html

Christmas deocrations gone

Finally,  an all day job of putting decorations down the stairs--whew!!  Now I have to get back down there and get all the boxes into the storage room.  I did manage to downsize for next year!!  It is a good feeling.
I have two of my precious little dolls with me for a couple of hours today.  They are such a blessing to have around.  We just do a lot of singing and pretending.
Tes just came running to me with a book.  Saying it was her favorite and wants me to read--so off to reading!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

I hope and pray that this year brings health and happiness to you and your family.
The past year brought trials that the precious Lord helped me through.  He is always so faithful and gracious!  Something that I started and am continuing to do is a survey through the Bible.  I'm doing it online with Chuch Swindoll at http://www.insight.org/broadcast/library.html  I would like to encourage you if you would like to just get an overview of the Bible.

I just have to share the fact that our dog, Harvey is alive and well.  He has been living with our friends in Alaska since before we left.  There was no way that we could of kept him and are so thankful that they took him and gave him a loving home.  He is about 19 years old and a beautiful silver color.
Here I am with four of my beauties!
