Packing up

Jim and I are busy packing up the house to move to __________________. The blank can be filled in with Anchorage, Seattle, or Phoenix! We are pretty excited about this change. We are praying for the Lord's guidance in the decision that has to be made. We have lived in the same home for over 25 years and going through things is pretty overwhelming. There is a lot of STUFF that has made its way into our lives. Trying to decipher what to save to dust and clean and what to sell or give as a treasure to others is somewhat of a problem. I'm trying to look at this STUFF as just that. I keep singing the song, "This World is not my Home", I'm just a passing through" We are so distracted in this life as to what is important. I'm just thankful that God has saved me and is always there to help me make the decisions that have to be made. Our desire is to be faithful to Him and to serve Him.

I've been wondering about you? What will determine where you end up at? How is your MIL doing?

I remember a quote I heard from a movie "Hope Floats" a long time ago, about how beginnings are always scary and ending are always sad but it's the stuff that happens in the middle, that's important.

Although we won't be facing retirement for another 8-10 years, we've already talked a lot about how we're going to be downsizing our stuff. I'm pretty casual about it right now but suspect when I'm actually handlling the stuff, it'll be totally different!

Keep us posted! Blogging minds want to now!

Good luck with your sorting. We did that when we moved out there, kind of, but a lot of it came up here with us and waits to be looked through still today. I have not missed it and now I am looking around my home thinking maybe it's time for a garage sale!

That's a good theme song for relocating!

We came here and thought it would be the last but even today we talk about selling and moving yet again! Who knows what life will bring us to, huh?
