The start of our trip to Fairbanks

Taking a break before being confined to the car seat. Baby James did great for the long trip up and back to Fairbanks.

This is the scene of the new snow on the mountains as we were leaving Anchorage in search of warmer temperatures and sunshine!!

Rest of the 4th of July Photos

Sisters celebrating the 4th together! This is the picnic spot we finally found: I think the fire pit was made for real short people. It did the job anyway, cause the food tasted good.
Here is the beautiful dessert table Shirlee , Shelly, and Colin made up for everyone. Everything tasted soooo good!
DELICIOUS!!

OOOOOH, Where do I get to start?

More of the 4th of July

Getting ready for the parade!Shelly hurt her ankle real badly , so she has to use crutches for 6 weeks. She gets along pretty well though. She will be pretty happy to get rid of those. Here she is with her son Colin.

My son Jordan and his friend Barbara in the foreground and my niece Janice and her friend Dee and my niece Shelly at the other side of the picnic table.
Happy 4th of July!!

4th of July

I really didn't take very good photos this 4th of July so I'm going to try and get some from my sister to post. I'm sure she will let me use her photos cause she is such a sweet sister!
I made this apron for the occasion mainly because I cannot seem to find a special top to wear for 4th of July celebrations. Actually, I think it turned out pretty good and I didn't mind wearing it out in public.

My cousin and her family joined in on the festivities! After the parade we found a place in the city next to the float plane lake for a picnic. We had plans of driving out of town but the weather forecast was for fog and cool temps where we were heading so we stayed in town and had a wonderful time. Later in the evening we went to my sister's for beautiful and tasty desserts that she and her family put together!! I hope to have photos of those to post.

Fire in our neighborhood

Here are photos of some of the fine Anchorage Fire Department vehicles at work putting out a fire a few hundred yards from where we live. I didn't get photos of the air support that was hard at work. The fire covered 10 acres and it was a breezy day. The fire was under control in about 4 hours so we didn't have to evacuate.
