junk food in the advertising in childrens tv programs

I just had to get this off my chest: Yesterday I heard on the news that a contributor to the obessity in children is the advertising in tv programming. Apparently sugary and fattening treats (junk food) are being pushed on our children in appealing advertising. We definately have a big problem with obesity in our society.

I would like to quote what Jesus said, 'Man shall not live by bread alone." I think we have a more serious problem than obessity. Our children and we as adults are being bombarded by total garbage presented as talent on our television and in other forms of media. The mind is being polluted and we can witness this by all of the crimes committed in our country on a daily basis.

Just as junk food is pushed by the media so is all sorts of evil. I'm not saying that all media is evil, we need to be discerning as to what we view. Unfortunately, our children can't be so discerning and see all the evil and naturally think it is ok to preform these evil deeds and end up in a lot of trouble physically, mentally, and emotionally.

We need to take a stand and do our part in making it possible that our children aren't hurt by an evil and greedy media.

I agree! The biggest influences on our children should be their parents! Too many times, parents are either lazy or too self-centered to be a parent to their children. They're either unwilling to do the hard work and correct their kids or they want to be their best friend. I've got news for them, be a parent when they're young, when it's tough and then when they're adults, the friendship will come. It's definitely a reward for all the hard work! Too many parents want to take short cuts! Tough love is exactly that-TOUGH!
