Not a good plan

Well, painting of the doors down the hall wasn't a good idea after all!! For some reason they don't look very nice. I did the prime coat then painted with a roller but the doors just don't look that good. So needless to say, we will have to purchase new ones after all. It was a lot of work. I got my exercise for the week with this ordeal, so something good came out of it. :) It looks a lot brighter down the hall way so that is another plus to it all.

Warmer days are here again!!

Our temperature today is above 0 and very light snow. That light snow adds up though. We weren't able to enjoy the great outdoors though. I had planned to paint hallway doors today,5 doors. We didn't prepare yesterday by getting the supplies so we got a late start today. Then we had a basketball game at 4 with team photos. My hubby and I are coaching a 3rd and 4th grade team and are having a good time. It is a coed team. If we get a photo of the team we will post it.

Things are lookiing up!!

Hey, we woke up to only 5 below 0!! So things are looking up!! I peeked out the window and it is snowing teeny tiny snow flakes. I'm braving it today and not wearing my wool sweater that I only wear when it is below 0 otherwise it is much too warm. Actually, I'm wearing a t-shirt, a long sleeve pullover top and a sweatshirt!! Pretty cool-huh? I look like quite a site for "no" eyes. :) but, hey, I'm going to be warm.

SUCCESS AT LAST!!

Persistance has finally paid off!! I have a fine loaf of potato chive bread. I finally decided just to mix the dough in the bread maker and put it in the loaf pan to bake. I have used large juice cans for my bread pans for years.

HOW MUCH LONGER???

How much longer can we survive the extreme temperature we have been experiencing? It is -26 degrees today!! I must admit that the scenery is spectactular with these temps. Thank God for WOOL!!!
Well, today is third time a charm!!! At least I can only hope. I'm going to attempt to make a loaf of bread using my bread machine. I've tried the last 2 days and both loaves failed-it was quite a sight watching my hubby manage to pry a piece off to taste the flavor!! He liked the flavor so I tried it again with another failure but it was a bit better than the loaf on Tuesday, so we had a little slice with our dinner. So today, I'm going to mix it in the machine and then put the dough in a pan and bake it. I've never had luck with the machine other than the mixing with it. Will let you know if it was a success. Good day to bake bread! Thinking of making a pot of soup to go with it!

Little Cold

It is a little cold today-like -20 degrees this am. It is -38 about 12 miles away. It varies this way because of the landscape. School still goes on with weather like this. I like to wear long wool skirts on these cool days. The scenery is absolutely spectactular with this kind of weather. Also, the days are getting longer. When I leave the house at 8:40 in the am it is starting to lighten up outside.
