(5) Arrival in Cold Bay

Not a good looking place to land.YEAH!! We finally see the runway and hope of landing safely!
I'm a total believer in the power of prayer and I can say that I did a fair amount of praying during this long drawn out flight. Prayer is a wonderful thing. I could feel the presence of God and had total peace in whatever might happen. My greatest fear was that we would have to land out in the middle of nowhere and have bears find us. (and you can only imagine what could happen then) I don't know about you, but I don't want a repeat of this sort of flight again.

(4) Salmon berries GALORE!!

Here is a close up of a salmonberry-it makes the most tastiest jelly you will ever taste. Two eager berry pickers!! We found a wonderful patch of berries right in town and had to get out to pick them before anyone else got the chance!! I think we have a good chance of getting a contract to model boots!!
Shirlee couldn't wait to fill her pitcher full.
I just didn't care about style when it came to getting a load of berries!
Shirlee struck it rich!!

(2) Photos while in Cold Bay

Yum!! Salmonberry soup!! It is a wonderful treat after coming home with a load of berries.Shirlee couldn't be happier in a FIELD of salmonberries. I don't think we ever saw so many berries in one place in our lives. They were so big and plump!
We found a bunch of yellow salmonberries at a different spot. They have a different flavor than the red berries.
Here is Lillian picking from a patch we found while driving around the countryside.
Leave the expensive toys on the shelves at the store-give Tommy a box and he is perfectly happy!

(1) Last photos of a very fun trip!

Lillian and her baby, Tommy. He is an angel baby--I'm not kidding! He is one of the most content babies I've ever seen. All four of us sisters together for a couple of hours. Bonnie had to catch a flight to Anchorage while Shirlee and I spent a couple of days with Lillian.
