HOW MUCH LONGER???

How much longer can we survive the extreme temperature we have been experiencing? It is -26 degrees today!! I must admit that the scenery is spectactular with these temps. Thank God for WOOL!!!
Well, today is third time a charm!!! At least I can only hope. I'm going to attempt to make a loaf of bread using my bread machine. I've tried the last 2 days and both loaves failed-it was quite a sight watching my hubby manage to pry a piece off to taste the flavor!! He liked the flavor so I tried it again with another failure but it was a bit better than the loaf on Tuesday, so we had a little slice with our dinner. So today, I'm going to mix it in the machine and then put the dough in a pan and bake it. I've never had luck with the machine other than the mixing with it. Will let you know if it was a success. Good day to bake bread! Thinking of making a pot of soup to go with it!

Little Cold

It is a little cold today-like -20 degrees this am. It is -38 about 12 miles away. It varies this way because of the landscape. School still goes on with weather like this. I like to wear long wool skirts on these cool days. The scenery is absolutely spectactular with this kind of weather. Also, the days are getting longer. When I leave the house at 8:40 in the am it is starting to lighten up outside.

Alaskan experience

Well, we wake up this am with a temperature of 15 degrees below 0!! Global warming at it's finest. There are areas 30 miles away with temps of 28 below 0. Sort of slow moving right now- got to do a little exercise to warm up and DRINK a lot of COFFEE!!
Maybe Augustine volcano should explode and give off the gases that cause global warming and we will warm up!! Stay warm!!

Tippsy snowman

Here is the snowman now. Unfortunately, it had a strong drink of some sort. I don't know where he got it from but I think he ran out one night without me knowing!! I think he learned a lesson but its too late. :(

Huge snowman

While my family was home for the Christmas holiday they made a snowman in the back yard. It is huge. Julie's hubby, Drew is behind her and Jordan is behind him. James is on the left of the snowman. It was funny watching them putting it together!

Back again!!

Hey, I'm back. Things have been soooo busy around here. Christmas was absolutely fabulous. The biggest and best part was that my daughter and her husband announced that they were going to be parents!!!! The due date is August 10th which is my hubby and my anniversary! What more could we ask for? Our first grandchild and being born on our anniversary! (well, we can only hope the baby will be born on the expected due date--how often does that happen?) The announcement was wrapped in a present. I will post that as soon as I can figure out how to do that again. This blog stuff is relatively new to me.
